✅ Age Limit (as on 19.05.2025):
JSA (General) - Hindi: Not exceeding 31 years (OBC).
JSA (Finance & Accounts): Not exceeding 28 years (UR), 33 years (SC).
JSA (Stores & Purchase): Not exceeding 28 years (UR).
Junior Stenographer: Not exceeding 27 years (UR), 30 years (OBC).
Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), 10 years for PwBD (UR), 15 years for PwBD (SC/ST), 13 years for PwBD (OBC), up to 35 years for Widows/Divorced Women (UR), 40 years for SC/ST, as per GoI rules. Ex-Servicemen as per GoI orders. No age limit for regular CSIR employees with prescribed qualifications.
✅ Educational Qualifications:
✔️ JSA (General) - Hindi: 10+2/ Matric + XII or equivalent + proficiency in Hindi typing (30 w.p.m., 9000 KDPH) on computer.
✔️ JSA (Finance & Accounts, Stores & Purchase): 10+2/ Matrix + XII or equivalent + proficiency in English typing (35 w.p.m., 10500 KDPH) or Hindi typing (30 w.p.m., 9000 KDPH) on computer.
✔️ Junior Stenographer: 10+2/XII or equivalent + shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m. in English/Hindi (10-min dictation, transcription: 50 min English/65 min Hindi).
✅ Selection Process:
✔️ Junior Secretariat Assistant:
Competitive Written Examination (Paper-I: Mental Ability Test, 100 questions, 200 marks, 90 min; Paper-II: General Awareness & English Language, 100 questions, 300 marks, 60 min). Paper-II evaluated only if Paper-I threshold met.
Proficiency Test in Computer Typing (English: 35 w.p.m./Hindi: 30 w.p.m., 10 min, qualifying in nature).
✔️ Junior Stenographer:
Competitive Written Examination (Single paper: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language Comprehension, 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours).
Proficiency Test in Stenography (80 w.p.m., 10-min dictation, transcription: 50 min English/65 min Hindi, qualifying in nature).
✔️ Final merit based on written exam marks (Paper-II for JSA, single paper for JST) for candidates qualifying proficiency tests. Tie resolution as per CSIR rules.
✔️ Written exam and proficiency test sequence decided by Selection Committee. Conducted in Chennai. Syllabus available on CSIR Madras Complex website.
✅ Application Fee:
✔️ ₹ 500/- for General/OBC/EWS candidates (non-refundable).
✔️ Exempted for SC /ST/ Women/ Ex-Servicemen/ PwBD/ CSIR Employees.
✔️ Fee payable online via RTGS/NEFT/IMPS/Debit Card/Credit Card to: CSIR Madras Complex, State Bank of India, Taramani (A/c No.: 30267725339, IFSC: SBIN0010673).
✅ How to Apply:
➢ Eligible candidates must apply online through the CSIR Madras Complex website (www.csircmc.res.in) from 17.04.2025 (9:00 AM) to 19.05.2025 (5:00 PM).
➢ Register with a valid email ID, log in, and complete the application form.
➢ Upload self-attested copies of: passport-size photograph (signed across), Date of Birth certificate, 10+2/XII certificates, typing/shorthand certificates, community/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen certificates, experience certificates, and E-receipt of application fee (if applicable).
➢ Pay the application fee online and enter transaction details.
➢ Submit the application after verifying details; no modifications allowed post-submission.
➢ Send a signed hard copy of the application with enclosures in an envelope marked "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF (Post Code)" to: The Controller of Administration, CSIR Madras Complex, CSIR Road, Taramani, Chennai-600113, Tamil Nadu, by 29.05.2025 (5:00 PM).
