IISER Trivandrum Faculty Recruitment 2015 Rolling Advertisement

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals with outstanding academic achievements, ability to establish a vibrant research programme, and with a passion for teaching, are invited, throughout the year, in any areas of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

Name of Post

Qualification & Experience

Assistant Professor (on contract)

(1) Assistant Professors on contract are not part of regular faculty cadre. Appointment at this level will be made on contract basis to enable bright young PhDs to teach and earn experience.
(2) They will be placed in Pay Band PB-3 of Rs 15600-39100 with Academic Grade Pay (AGP) of Rs 6000/- pm with seven non-compounded advance increments.
(3) After one year of post of PhD experience, these Assistant Professors on contract basis shall be placed in the AGP of Rs 7000/- pm. However for the next position they have to apply afresh with respect to open advertisement.

Assistant Professor (Regular)

(1) Ph.D with first class at the preceding degree with a very good academic record throughout.
(2) At least three years of post-doctoral research or equivalent experience.

Associate Professor

(1) Should have a PhD with First Class at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
(2) A minimum of six years of Teaching/Research Experience of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor.

Professor

(1) Should have a PhD with First Class at the preceding degree with very good academic record throughout.
(2) A minimum of 10 years of experience of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc, IIMs, NITIE and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign Institutions of comparable standards as may be so decided by the Institute.

Pay Structure:

Professor -> PB-4 Rs.48,000 + AGP Rs.10,500/-
Associate Professor -> PB-4 Rs.42,800 + AGP Rs.9,500/-
Assistant Professor -> PB-3 Rs.30,000 + AGP Rs.8,000/-

Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview. Persons working under the Central Govt./State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Central Autonomous Bodies should submit an NOC at the time of interview.
