Indian Army Dental Corps Jobs 2024 Notification for 30 SSC Officer Vacancies: Indian Army invites applications from Indian citizens, both Male and Female Candidates, for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Army Dental Corps. A total of 30 vacancies are available for the grant of SSC to desirous civilian Dental Surgeons. Eligible candidates apply online only @ joinindianarmy.nic.in from 6th May 2024. The last date for submission of online applications is 5th June 2024. Only NEET (MDS) 2024 applied candidates are eligible to apply this recruitment.

Army Dental Corps Age Limit: The candidate must not have attained 45 Years of age as on 31st December 2024.
Army Dental Corps Salary: The Civilian Dental surgeons on commissioning in AD Corps will be granted rank of Captain in the pay scale, Level 10 B (₹ 61,300 – 1,20,900) of Defence Pay Matrix as elaborated in Army Pay Rules-2017 (7th Pay Commission). They will be entitled to Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 15,500/- per month, Non Practicing Allowance (NPA) at the rate of 20% of Basic Pay. HRA (if applicable) as per category of the city, (i.e. X, Y, Z, where the officer is posted) and Dearness Allowance as admissible. Depending upon the rank & area of posting, officers posted to field areas are eligible for Field Area Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, Siachen Allowance, as applicable.
Army Dental Corps Eligibility Criteria:
(1) Candidates must hold a BDS/MDS degree from a College/University recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The college should be recognized for the respective batch/year in which the candidate graduated. Additionally, candidates must be registered as Dental Practitioners with any State Dental Council. A minimum aggregate of 55% marks in the final year of BDS or possession of an MDS Degree is required.
(2) The candidates should have completed a one-year compulsory rotatory internship by June 30, 2024. The Permanent or Provisional Dental Registration certificate from the State Dental Council /DCI should be valid until at least December 31, 2024.
(3) The Candidates are required to have appeared in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, NEET (MDS) - 2024, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi, on March 18, 2024.
(4) Only candidates (BDS/MDS) who appeared in the NEET (MDS)-2024 conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi, on March 18, 2024, are eligible to apply.
Army Dental Corps Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for

Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on their scores in the NEET (MDS)-2024 conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi, under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The shortlisting will follow a ratio of 1:10, meaning for each advertised vacancy, ten candidates will be called for interview. |
Medical Examination |
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview conducted by a duly constituted Selection Board in New Delhi to assess their suitability and merit for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Army Dental Corps. The final merit list for SSC in Army Dental Corps will be determined solely based on the performance in the interview. Candidates who qualify in the interview will undergo a Medical Examination. |
Document Verification |
All candidates provisionally placed on the merit list must undergo a comprehensive medical examination to determine their medical fitness. The decision of the Medical Board will be final. |
Army Dental Corps Physical Standards:
(a) Height & Weight: For Male Candidates - The minimum height required for entry into the AFMS for male cadets is 157 cm. Candidates from Hill and Northeastern States will be accepted with a minimum height of 152 cm. For Female Candidates - The minimum height required for entry into the Armed Forces for female cadets is 152 cm. Candidates from Hill and Northeastern States will be accepted with a minimum height of 147 cm.

(c) To be passed fit, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duty.
Army Dental Corps Application Fee: The Candidates are required to make online payment of ₹ 200/-, online towards DGAFMS (APF Fund) along with the application.
