North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE)under National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) Meghalaya invites applications for filling up Seven (07) vacancies of Assistant Professor in Education (Teaching Methodology) with specialization in different areas on purely contractual basis. Eligible candidates are called for Walk in Interview on 26th and 27th February 2014.

Subject wise Vacancies: English, Hindi, Mathematics, Chemistry, Chemistry, Social Sciences with Political Science or History, Physical Education, Fine Arts/Music (One Vacancy for each subject).
Essential Qualifications:
1. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of "B" in the seven point scale at Masters Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.
2. Besides fulfilling the above qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET)/SLET in the relevant subject for Assistant Professors conducted by the UGC/CSIR or any other agency accredited by the UGC. Exemption, if any, to be provided will be strictly as per guidelines issued by MHRD, GOI and UGC to persons who have obtained a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the standards prescribed by the UGC under University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedures for award of M.Phil / Ph.D. degree) regulation, 2009.
3. Disciplines in which NET is not conducted are exempted from NET as per UGC regulations 2006.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. B.Ed and M.Ed, qualification with 55% mark (for requirement of NCTE recognition and for teaching methodology in subjects for B.Ed students)
2. Teaching experience in schools/college/institutions for teaching B.Ed students including English / Hindi / Mathematics / Chemistry / Social Sciences / Physical Education / Fine Arts / Music.
