✅ SER Cultural Quota Age Limit:
- 18 to 30 years as on 01.01.2027 for UR.
- Age relaxation – 03 years for OBC (upper age up to 33 years).
- Age relaxation – 05 years for SC / ST (upper age up to 35 years).
- Age relaxation – 10 years for PwBD, subject to production of Disability Certificate.
- Serving Railway Employees (with prescribed service): UR up to 40 years, OBC up to 43 years, SC/ST up to 45 years.
- Widows / Divorced Women / Women Judicially separated but not remarried: UR up to 35 years, OBC up to 38 years, SC/ST up to 40 years.
- Ex-Servicemen: relaxation up to extent of service rendered in Defence Forces plus 3 years, subject to conditions.
✅ SER Cultural Quota Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Passed 12th or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate from a Government recognized Education Board. 50% marks not insisted for SC/ST/ESM & PwBD candidates and candidates having higher qualification from UGC recognized University.
- OR Passed 10th from recognized Board plus ITI / National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) approved by NCVT for Technician Grade-III in Level-2. (Diploma in Engineering is not considered as an alternative higher qualification.)
- Cultural Qualification: Degree / Diploma / Certificate course in the respective discipline only from a Government recognized University / Institute.
- Candidates not possessing the prescribed Cultural Qualification need not apply.
- Preference for experience in the applied discipline, performance on All India Radio / Doordarshan, and National Level awards / prizes.
- If appointed as Clerk-cum-Typist, typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi must be acquired within two years.
- Empanelled candidates must be declared fit in the prescribed medical category by Railway Medical Authority.
✅ SER Cultural Quota Selection Process:
- Stage-I: Written Test / OMR / CBT – 50 marks. Objective type questions, duration 60 minutes, negative marking of 1/3rd. Qualifying marks 40%. Language: English or Hindi.
- Stage-II: Practical Demonstration in applied discipline – 35 marks.
- Testimonials / Prizes etc. in the applied discipline – 15 marks.
- Total: 100 marks. Candidates called for Stage-II in the ratio of 1:5 of notified vacancies as per merit of Stage-I.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination.
✅ SER Cultural Quota Application Fee:
- For all candidates except those mentioned below: ₹ 500/- (₹ 400/- refundable to those who actually appear in the written examination).
- For SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Class: ₹ 250/- (full amount refundable to those who actually appear in the written examination).
- Payment online through Internet Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card. Service charges borne by the candidates.
- Economically Backward Class means family income less than ₹ 50,000/- per annum.

✅ How to Apply SER Cultural Quota 2026:
- Eligible candidates may apply online through the official RRC/SER website or the given apply link.
- Visit www.rrcser.co.in > Recruitment Cell and click on “online/E-Application for Cultural Quota/2026-27”.
- Register with personal details, note the Application Number and Password received by email / SMS, then login and complete the form.
- Upload photograph, signature, Left Thumb Impression and self-attested certificates of age, education, cultural qualification, caste / income / disability as applicable.
- Pay the examination fee online and submit the application on or before 16th November 2026. Download the application for future reference.
- Applications received directly at RRC/SER will not be entertained. Call letters will be available on the website only.
