Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold an All India Open Competitive Examination for recruitment of Grade 'C' ( Group 'B' Non-Gazetted ) and Stenographer Grade 'D'(Group 'C' Non-Gazetted). Minimum 12th Standard Passed Candidates are eligible to Apply for SSC Stenographer Exam 2015-16 – Apply Online on or Offline on or before 7th September 2015. SSC Stenographers (Grade C and D) Exam will hold on Sunday, the 27th December 2015.

Age Limit: 18 to 27 Years as on 1st August 2015 Candidates born not before 02-08-1988 and not later than 01-08-1997).
Age Relaxation: 5 Years for SC/ST; 03 Years for OBC; 10 Years for PH; 13 Years for PH + OBC; 15 Years for PH + SC/ST. For Others (Ex-Serviceman etc) check out official Notification.
Educational Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard (Matriculation with HSC) or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
Selection Process: Written Examination and Skill Test in Stenography.

SSC Steno Grade C & D Exam Detail ->
(a) Exam Date – 27th December 2015 (Sunday);
(b) Exam Time - 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (OR) 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM (Duration 2 Hours), For Visually Handicapped candidates - Duration is 2 Hours 40 Minutes.
(c) The questions except in Part III will be set both in English & Hindi.
(d) Negative Marks 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
(e) Any representation regarding answer key of the written examination will be scrutinized and the decision of the Commission in this regard will be final and no further representation will be entertained.
(f) Commission reserves the right to introduce additional stage of examination which would be notified at suitable time, if considered necessary.
SSC Stenographer Grade C&D Exam Syllabus 2015:
General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and nonverbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate's abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.
General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate's general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
English Language & Comprehension: In addition to the testing of candidates' understanding of the English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/her writing ability, would also be tested.
SSC Steno Skill Test Pattern 2015:
For Stenographer Grade 'D' -> 50 minutes (English), 65 minutes (Hindi)
For Stenographer Grade 'C' -> 40 minutes (English), 55 Minutes (Hindi)
Application Fee: ₹ 100/-. The candidates submitting Paper application (Offline) should pay the fee by means of "Central Recruitment Fee Stamps(CRFS)" only (OR) SBI Challan (OR) On line payment through net banking/ debit card/ credit cards. The Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.

Online Mode -> Apply Online through SSC Online Portal from 8th August 2015. The Last Date for Receiving Online Application is Part-I Registration –> 04/09/2015 (up to 5:00 PM); Part-II Registration –> 07/09/2015 (up to 5:00 PM).
Offline Mode -> Application on the prescribed format available on below table link. The last date for receipt of application is 07/09/2015 (upto 5 P.M.). For candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and for candidates residing abroad – 14/09/2015.
